Start
Each player is secretly dealt an Ace. Players win by obtaining cards that match the suit of their assigned Ace.
Your Turn
On your turn, either Draw or Trade.
- Draw: Take the top card of the draw pile in secret. Put it in your Bank face down or on your Trading Floor face up.
- Trade: Offer any number of cards from your Trading Floor for any number of cards from one other player's Trading Floor.
- If your trade is rejected, you're unable to send another offer to that player till your next turn. You can still send offers to other players, or draw instead.
Bank
Cards placed into your Bank are not revealed or moved until the end of the game.
Trading Floor
Cards placed on your Trading Floor can be traded later on. Once a card is there, it stays there until it is traded away. Cards you receive in a trade can go either in your Bank or back on your Trading Floor.
Forced Draw
If every active player trades consecutively, the next player must draw.
Winning
When the draw pile is empty, players count how many cards in their Bank and Trading Floor match the Secret Suit of their Ace. The player with the highest count wins. If two players have the same amount, the winner is determined by tiebreakers:
- Most Sister Suit cards(Cards that share the color of your Secret Suit)
- Most total cards
- Most face cards
- Highest total value (Face cards count as 10)
Bot Personalities
Bots are randomly assigned personalities before each game. On Easy Mode, you can see which personality each bot has. On Normal Mode, their personalities are hidden. On Hard Mode, one of the bots will be the "Hustler" personality, which plays more like a skilled human would.

Version Log
Version 3.7.5
- Removed 2-player games. New Solo and Online games can now be created with 3 or 4 players only.
- Added validation so unsupported 2-player game requests cannot create a 2-player table.
- Removed the old 2-player table-size entry from profile statistics; game-size logs now show only 3-player and 4-player Quarta.
Version 3.7.4
- Fixed Advanced Tips instructional cards so Large Cards and Large Text settings cannot enlarge their contents beyond the card.
- Updated the Advanced Tips card examples to keep their intended fixed-size typography and proportions.
- Kept the two-tailed Quarta Q and Hustler personality polish from 3.7.3.
Version 3.7.3
- Added fixed-size Advanced Tips card examples so the gameplay Card Size setting does not resize them.
- Added the Assumed Suit helper explanation and example to Advanced Tips.
- Fixed and stabilized the two-tailed Quarta Q rendering on Advanced Tips card backs.
- Made the Hustler personality visually distinct in the Personalities section with an Advanced badge and highlighted panel.
Version 3.7.1
- Added accepted-trade card animations while keeping trade resolution atomic in Solo and Online play.
- Improved Profile playstyle tags so they use voluntary qualifying decisions instead of raw totals; forced/scripted choices no longer skew personality labels.
- Behavioral tags now wait for at least 10 qualifying decisions in their family, while the existing raw Playstyle and Trading stats remain visible separately.
Version 3.7.0
- Added online Daily Modifiers: Open Book Monday, Quicka Tuesday, Face Card Wednesday, Friendly Friday, Night and Day Saturday, and Fog Sunday.
- Added Quarta Thursday progression. Complete 3 online games or 9 solo games on Thursday to earn one weekly stamp; 7 stamps unlock Throwback.
- Room creators can bypass non-Thursday Daily Modifiers. On Thursday, Hidden matchmaking temporarily behaves as Closed without changing the saved setting.
- Added a Throwback reward preview to the Daily Modifiers menu and clarified its seven-stamp unlock.
- Clarified that The Question, Throwback, and secret rewards are not required for Dark Matter.
- Matched the opening Ace reveal to the normal card face used in Bank inspection.
- Fixed narrow desktop and Large Text action-bar clipping after the Daily Modifiers button was added.
Version 3.6.18
- Fixed the tutorial Secret Suit reveal on widescreen PC so the face-up Ace cleanly fills the enlarged Bank instead of retaining the old smaller size.
Version 3.6.17
- Online bots now use the fuller Solo trade/personality logic, including counteroffers, suit inference, and smarter Hustler behavior.
- Bots can sweeten a rejected offer on a later turn, escalating the package while the requested card is still available.
- Polished the tutorial, presumed-suit notes, and widescreen opening Ace deal; first-time tutorial audio stays SFX-only while replays keep current music playing.
Version 3.6.16
- Incoming trades now use the same bottom widescreen dock as Build Trade and Counter Offer for a consistent desktop trade flow.
Version 3.6.15
- Reworked the widescreen Build Trade and Counter Offer dock into a horizontal layout: trade context stays on the left while Send/Cancel and You Give/You Get stay on the right.
- The widescreen trade builder now uses the available width instead of a short scrollable box, keeping selected cards visible during normal trades.
Version 3.6.11
- Expanded the roomy widescreen PC layout with a wider table, larger cards, and more breathing room while preserving the existing docked side panels.
- Widescreen trade building uses the extra horizontal space while keeping opponent Trading Floors reachable.
- The Survey reward appears at the top of the form with a preview of The Question Card Back.
Version 3.6.10
- Hardened Firebase database access so players can no longer write unrelated profiles, leaderboards, presence, invites, or online rooms.
- Updated lobby leaving and account-link cleanup to remain compatible with the tighter production security rules.
Version 3.6.9
- Difficulty-neutral solo Card Back achievements can now be earned on Easy while difficulty-specific rewards keep their existing requirements.
- Offline Draw is now locked during automatic draws, matching the online protection against double-draw races.
- Corrected Hiya!'s two-tailed Q overlap and moved its speech-bubble triangle up and to the right.
Version 3.6.8
- Added a Feedback / Survey form in Settings for bug reports, suggestions, general feedback, and structured player surveys.
- Survey responses include ratings for learning, fun, visuals, audio, online multiplayer, replayability, and the overall game, plus three optional written questions.
- Completing a Survey unlocks the Card Back The Question.
Version 3.6.7
- Kept Talk available from the online Results screen so players can communicate after a match ends.
- Improved the desktop trade windows for Large Cards, including a shorter Build Trade header and a roomier Incoming Trade layout.
- Cleaned up the Static, Hiya!, and 1A Card Back Q details.
Version 3.6.6
- Added online rematches. A finished table can invite the previous human players to play again without creating a new room.
- A rematch starts its countdown as soon as one other player accepts. Players who do not join remain visible as Disconnected seats.
- Made the Wavedash Kid creator credit clickable and linked it to the creator site.
Version 3.6.3

Version 3.6.2
- Improved online reconnect after refreshing or briefly losing connection, including using the original room code to recover your active seat.
- Fixed a multiplayer opening-turn timing issue that could leave the first player unable to place their automatically drawn card.
- Kept the Incoming Trade panel above iPhone Safari's bottom controls so the full offer remains reachable.

- New desktop players now start with Large Cards by default; saved Card Size preferences are preserved.
- Updated the browser tab title to “Quarta - Trade, Bluff, Win!”
Version 3.5.0
- Expanded Trials to ten variants, all available in any order once Trials are unlocked. Complete any five for Stars and all ten for Static.

- Invite senders are now told when an invitation is declined, and unused invite-only rooms close automatically.
- Results now show each player's finishing place directly beside their name.
- Corrected black Suspected Suit symbols so Clubs and Spades display in black.
Version 3.4.4
- Trade-related bot comm replies now follow the player you most recently sent an offer or counteroffer to.
- Leaderboard card backs now scale and center their full design proportionally instead of rebuilding patterns at miniature size.
- Restored the large Profile card-back preview so the selected artwork can be inspected without equipping it.
- Reorganized Credits with creator and Special Thanks first, expanded Sound & Music credits, and Version at the bottom.
Version 3.4.3
- Added unique deal and Profile-preview sounds for the secret Comedian and Sum card backs.
- Expanded the Sum card back's green number matrix so it fills the full card instead of clustering on one portion.
Version 3.4.2
- Online card-deal animations now play in sequence when network updates arrive together, preventing two seats from being dealt visually at the same time.
- Fixed the Abundance unlock announcement so its overflowing suit artwork appears correctly.
Version 3.4.1
- Unnamed players now receive a stable numbered Player alias on both Online and Solo leaderboards instead of appearing as identical plain “Player” entries.
- Legacy plain “Player” leaderboard rows are resolved through the same alias system when loaded.
- Custom player names are unchanged.
Version 3.4
- Added a desktop-only docked panel layout for roomy mouse/trackpad displays.
- History can stay open on the right while the table remains fully interactive.
- Challenges, Rules, Profile, and Settings open on the left, with one left panel visible at a time.
- Rules and History can be viewed simultaneously beside the live game.
- Phones, tablets, touch-first devices, cramped windows, and smaller displays keep the existing modal layout unchanged.
Version 3.3
- Added private Suspected Suit tags by clicking an opponent’s Bank.
- Added the secret Comedian card back for witnessing a Face Cards tiebreaker.
- Added the secret Sum card back for witnessing a Total Value tiebreaker.

Version 3.2
- Online History now records detailed draws, placements, offers, counters, rejections, and completed trades like Solo History.
- Invite prompts now visibly open the online waiting room for both players before a match starts.
- Online bots use their table positions as names and no longer answer “Thanks” after your latest interaction was with a human.
- Fixed online Trading Floor and trade statistics that could remain at zero.
- Results now use Secret Suit and Sister Suit terminology.
- Added mutual opt-in Full Chat under Matchmaking settings.
- Prevented a completed game’s delayed end reveal from resurfacing after a new game starts.
Version 3.1
- Aligned the two full Qs in the desktop startup wordmark so their circular bowls overlap cleanly, while keeping both tails visible.
Version 3.0.1
- Improved multi-card trade selection on small touch screens so selected cards no longer expand over neighboring tap targets.
- Updated the decorative table wordmarks to use Quarta's two-tailed Q.
- Changed the endgame stat label from “Suit cards” to “Secret Suit cards.”
- Corrected the black-card order in the Advanced Tips Sister Suit example.
- Music now starts before a game: first-time players begin with the Easy theme, while returning players resume their most recently played theme. Music Off always takes priority.
- Card-back unlock announcements stay above the endgame results until dismissed.
Version 3.0
- Standardized “Secret Suit” capitalization across player-facing text.
- Standardized the first tiebreaker terminology as “Sister Suit” in Rules and Advanced Tips.
- Promoted the verified 2.9.9 launch candidate to 3.0 after additional real-device iPhone confirmation.
- No gameplay, leaderboard, Cloud Save, reconnect, matchmaking, challenge, Trial, achievement, bot, audio, or card-back behavior changed from 2.9.9.
Version 2.9.9
- Added the Quarta startup splash using the same overlaid, 180°-rotated Q treatment as the card backs, plus the four card suits.
- The splash runs on a fresh page load/visit and does not retrigger just because an existing tab becomes active again.
- The opening Ace deal now plays the local player's equipped card-back deal sound before the Ace Reveal sound.
- Real-device iPhone testing confirmed the live game no longer requires scrolling.
Version 2.9.7
- Humanized player-facing text across the table, Rules, tutorial, Profile, card backs, results, and supporting UI.
- Leaderboards no longer require Google Save; anonymous Firebase players publish automatically after eligible Solo or Online games.
- Google Save is now strictly for cloud persistence and carrying progress across devices.
- Kept final-card auto-Bank, counteroffer restrictions, Trading Floor permanence, reconnect, card-back audio, challenges, Trials, and all prior 2.9.6 behavior intact.
Version 2.9.5
- Added a unique sound effect for every unlockable card back; Classic continues to use the original Card Dealt sound.
- Selecting a card back in Profile now previews that back's sound immediately.
- Card draws now play the sound belonging to the receiving player's equipped card back, including other human players online.
- Opening your Bank to view its cards now plays your selected card-back sound.
- Collapsed the long music and sound attribution list so Special Thanks and Version remain easy to reach.
- Changed Dark Matter's requirement text to “Unlock every other solo card back.”
Version 2.9.4
- The final card is now automatically Banked instead of being placed on the Trading Floor, without counting as a voluntary Bank placement.
- Counteroffers must change at least one card and cannot worsen the countering player's card-count ratio compared with the original offer.
- Improved short iPhone viewport handling so the live game board and main controls fit without scrolling.
- Added Clark, Laurie, and Rach to Special Thanks.
- Removed the remaining explanatory subtitle above Online Card Backs.
- Kept the existing reconnect, matchmaking, Cloud Save, challenges, Trials, achievements, and online features intact.
Version 2.9.3
- Added reconnect-after-disconnect for active online matches, with Reconnect and Leave Match choices before the New Game screen.
- Leaving a disconnected match makes that abandoned seat automatically place its draws on the Trading Floor so the table can keep moving.
- Added a hidden five-tap Cloud Save logout for switching Google accounts on shared devices and for testing.
- Finalized the secret Abundance card back as an overflowing hoard of stacked suit symbols; it remains excluded from Dark Matter.
Version 2.9.2
- Cleaned up Settings by removing explanatory subtitles from every setting except Matchmaking.
- Shortened the Matchmaking descriptions for Open, Closed, and Hidden.
- Updated the Credits heading to “Music and Sound by Pixabay.com”.
- Removed the explanatory subtitle above the main Card Backs collection.
Version 2.9
- Leaderboard now ranks by total wins by default, with SQR and OQR retained as secondary ratings.
- Fixed the Empty Trading Floor Daily Challenge so the unavoidable final auto-placed card does not disqualify the challenge.
- Counter is no longer offered when it would simply repeat the exact same trade.
- Added the secret Abundance card back for witnessing a game decided by the Total Cards tiebreaker.
- Corrected the tiebreaker example to use the Eight of Diamonds.
Version 2.8.8.5
- Moved Quarta to Firebase Hosting and restored Google Cloud Save sign-in and persistence.
- Fixed stale online presence so disconnected players expire instead of lingering as inviteable "Player" entries.
- Button Layout now swaps every top action, including Challenges and New Game, while Right remains the default.
- Simplified the Challenges popup and promoted total progress plus refresh time into the old Daily Challenges heading position.
Version 2.8.8.4
- Players in the tutorial are no longer available for online game invites.
- Declining an invite prevents that player from inviting you again for five minutes.
- Invite sending now re-checks live availability so stale lobby presence cannot bypass the tutorial lockout.
Version 2.8.8.3
- Improved Google Cloud Save sign-in on Safari, including a redirect fallback when popups are blocked.
- Stopped Easy mode from repeating bot personality labels on the endgame results screen.
- Corrected the fifth card in the tiebreaker example to the Eight of Hearts.

- Added the in-game version number at the bottom of Credits.
